What

Arrow is a Windows program which allows you to create and manage interactive discussion mailing lists as well as announcement lists on your PC. Mailing lists are commonly used to provide support for products and services and to allow people to discuss common interests.

For example, users of Arrow are invited to join the Arrow Mailing List. You can subscribe to the mailing list by sending an e-mail message to arrowlist@jadebox.com with just the word "Subscribe" (without the quotes) as the subject of the message. When Arrow receives the message, it will send you a "confirmation" message. When you send a reply to the confirmation message, Arrow will add you to the Arrow Mailing List. You will receive messages posted to the list by other subscribers and you will be able to post messages or enter replies to messages which will be seen by the other subscribers.

Once subscribed, you can send a message to the list with just "Help" as the subject to receive a message listing the commands Arrow recognizes. These commands include one to let you choose to receive "digests" instead of individual list messages. A digest is a single MIME-encoded message containing all the messages posted to the list during the period you choose.

You can remove yourself from the mailing list by sending a message with just "Unsubscribe" in the subject to the list address.

When you use Arrow to create your own mailing list (or lists), you can choose whether Arrow requires confirmation of subscriptions. You can customize the commands Arrow recognizes as well as the messages it generates. You can elect to preview all messages posted to the list before they are forwarded to subscribers, or you can have Arrow run unattended.

Arrow receives messages through a standard e-mail (POP3) account and sends messages through your Internet Service Provider's SMTP server.

You can download and try the unregistered version of Arrow. The unregistered version allows you to create one mailing list with up to 50 subscribers. If you find Arrow useful, you can upgrade to the registered version which does not have this limitation. To upgrade Arrow, you register (purchase a license to use) the program for $50 (US) and receive a special license key which removes the restrictions.
